Jefferson County is located in Central Oregon and includes the cities of Warm Springs, Camp Sherman, Culver, Madras, Metolius, Ashwood and Crooked River Ranch.

Jefferson County is considered a high desert climate boasting 300 days of sunshine each year.

Some of the county's finest achievements are not places or edifices. They celebrate a cultural diversity that makes not only Jefferson County but also the Unites States great.

Home of the Warm Springs, Wasco, and Paiute tribes, the Warm Springs Reservation is inhabited bynearly 4,000 tribal members, most of whomlive in or around the town of

Warm Springs. It is home to the Kah-Nee-Ta Resort and the award-winning Museum at Warm Springs which hosts many cultural events such as salmon bakes, dancing, drumming, storytelling and more.

Central Oregon’s climate is recognized as a year-round destination for professional and amateur bikers. Several national competitions areheld here each year, including the

Cascade Cycling Classic that draws world-class competitors such as Greg Lamond and Lance Armstrong.

Other outdoor activities include golf, fishing, rock climbing, hiking, camping, horseback riding and white water rafting.

Jefferson County is in the center of winter fun for cross-country and alpine skiers, snow boarders, snowmobilers, sledders and everyone who likes playing in the snow. Though Jefferson County does not have a ski resort within its boundaries, there are two world-class resorts within easy driving distance including Mt. Bachelor, which is home to several world class ski and snowboard events.
