Kennedy Space Center is an experiential gateway to the world’s busiest space center and one of Florida’s most popular destinations. It is 140,000 acres of inspirational, educational and entertaining experiences, including IMAX® films, live shows, hands-on activities, and behind-the-scenes tours.

Meetings and group events at Kennedy Space Center invariably leave a lasting impression on attendees. Whether awe struck by the sheer size of the rockets, spacecraft and buildings or inspired by hearing first hand stories from the actual men and women of the U.S. Space Program, the stage is set for an once in a lifetime presentation or celebration. Experienced meeting and conference staff onsite provide turnkey planning and execution of events at any level of production or sophistication.

Kennedy Space Center is a massive site. Located on Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, and encompasses more than 140,000 acres - over 200 square miles - providing a truly unique environment.

Kennedy Space Center is accessible to groups of all sizes as it is just a 40 minute scenic drive from Orlando’s expanding convention center, theme parks and Orlando International Airport.

There are three main venues that can be configured for groups sizing from 30 to 3,000:

1. The one-of-a-kind Dr. Kurt H. Debus Conference Facility can be utilized as a single room or converted into five fully functional meeting spaces (Juno,

Jupiter, Vanguard, Atlas, and Redstone) supported by an onsite kitchen and multi-media audio/visual equipment. The Conference Facility overlooks the historic Rocket Garden, a full sized display of eight vintage rockets from the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo space programs, and can accommodate groups from 30 to700.

2. The Apollo/Saturn V Center captures the authenticity of the moon landing missions within a 100,000 square foot facility. The centerpiece of Center is the gigantic Saturn V moon rocket revealed in all of its awesome stages. There is banquet space available that can accommodate a 400 person plated dinner or a 3,000 person standing reception.

3. The Astronaut Hall of Fame, the newest addition to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, features the world’s largest collection of astronaut memorabilia plus displays, interactive exhibits, simulators and tributes to the heroes of the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs. The Astronaut Hall of Fame can host 40 guests for plated banquets and 150 guests for standing receptions. Simulators allow guests to recreate the feel of walking on the moon, driving a rover on Mars and the force of “4Gs”.

The Astronaut Appearance programs feature inspiring presentations and give guests a chance to mingle, ask questions, take photos and even dine with a pioneer of the space program. Photo ops with a fully costumed “Spaceman” character can be arranged.

Themed group tours are a unique aspect of events, providing special access to restricted areas of the spaceflight facility at the Apollo/Saturn V Center and Launch Complex 39 Observation Gantry.

These day long excursions encourage people to arrive early and take advantage of the many exhibits and historical sites.

Kennedy Space Center offers state-of-the-art audio/visual facilities and meeting space including two 400 seat IMAX theaters, and the 300 seat Universe Theater.

Kennedy Space Center provides elegant, full service event catering for up to 3,000 guests. Choose between multi-course buffets, stand-up reception menus, pre-packaged lunches or plated dinners. There are also three onsite restaurants, including Mila’s, a retro-themed diner, harkening back to the early days of the space program   that can accommodate full service reserved seating for groups of up to 36.

In addition to its remarkable group and meeting facilities, Kennedy Space Center is announcing a number of brand new activities for visitors to experience:

ATX - Astronaut Training Experience (to launch Fall 2003) - This full day, in depth program of activities gives guests a glimpse of what it takes to be an astronaut. ATX is a realistic mission simulation in a full scale orbiter mockup that involves meeting an astronaut, an exclusive tour of Kennedy Space Center, and simulator experiences including moonwalk and G-force training.
