Imagine the thrill of sailing a tall ship past Newport harbor into the deep blue sea. The spirit of cooperation, shared vision, flexibility, and speed of response required of crew members 250 years ago mirror the key success factors in the business world today.

Now, imagine your very own work team participating in an exciting team building adventure, sailing the Sloop Providence, an historic replica of the tall ship once sailed by John Paul Jones, through the Narragansett Bay.

Sailing a tall ship is ideal way to develop personal leadership and team building skills. It also provides a unique opportunity to enhance your sense of team cohesion and reflect on the real challenges your business faces in the months ahead. The Providence Maritime Heritage Foundation has created a very unique team learning experience aboard the Sloop Providence that will challenge your team

members to work in harmony with others in confined conditions, to utilize one another's diverse strengths, and respond to the unusual, unpredictable, and sometimes challenging conditions of the marine environment.

Your team will learn to set realistic expectations, communicate effectively, make quick decisions, delegate responsibility, coach one another for improved performance, and manage conflict productively. They will work with you to design a one-day adventure program that achieves your team goals and addresses your key business objectives. 1-3 day programs combine highly interactive, shore-based team building workshops with a sailing adventure that allows your team members to "learn the ropes" and actually sail the tall ship under the close watch of our experienced captain. Sailing adventures are led by Joe Blotnick of Team New England, a corporate leadership training and development firm, with a proven track record of

delivering highly successful adventure team building programs for supervisors, managers, and executives in a wide variety of organizations from non-profits to Fortune 100 companies.

Joe has over 18 years of experience in the training and development field, extensive management experience, and a special knack for reaching all leaders on a personal development level through adventure programs.

The Narragansett Bay and surrounding coastline provides the option of sheltered waters, relatively short hops, quiet anchorage's, and good food and accommodation at a variety of first class hotels.

Previous sailing experience is not required and one does not have to be overly athletic to fully participate.

They also design programs to complement or set the theme for your on-shore business meetings, conferences, and seminar
